Like many people, I turned to the obvious solution Velcro. It worked at first, but only temporarily. Because I carried my MacBook everywhere the Velcro quickly collected dust and lint, lost its grip, and became less reliable with every use.

What bothered me even more was how it looked. Two strips of fuzzy Velcro permanently stuck to the lid of my MacBook completely took away from the clean design I loved.

I knew there had to be a better way. So instead of settling I decided to design one myself.

The first prototype wasn't pretty, but it proved one thing the mount had to be removable. Magnets were the answer. With experience in 3D modeling.

I turned to 3D printing because it allowed me to prototype quickly, refine the design, and improve it without the cost and limitations of traditional manufacturing.

As each version got better, I started sharing them with friends, family, and colleagues. The response was always the same: "You should start selling these."
